My name is Domino, I am a Dalmatian and was born in 2008, completely deaf. My siblings and I were born on a farm with a very angry man. We were all rescued and taken to a foster home. My siblings found homes right away. I didn’t because I was deaf. I was super scared; things like shadows, quick movements and smoke terrified me. When I met my Mom, I knew she was my Mom. We clicked right away. She didn’t seem to care that I was hearing impaired, she loved me unconditionally from the first time I saw her, and I could feel her love for me in my heart. Boy, am I ever glad she came to get me!
When we got to my new home, I was introduced to my big brother, Romeo. Romeo is the boss (he let me know right away). He is a tuxedo cat, we kind of look alike and are best friends. Romeo lets me know when someone is at the door or when Mom comes home, he’s my hearing ear cat. Romeo was rescued, too but he’s not afraid of ANYTHING! I love him. I’ve learned so much since I became family with Mom and Romeo. First, Mom had me work with an “Animal Behaviorist” who taught me that I don’t have to be afraid of everything. Then I met a woman who taught me American Sign Language (I’m told that my name in ASL is the sign for, “I love you”). Very appropriate because I feel very loved. I also got to learn about Reiki and wow, is that every relaxing! It’s awesome and helps with my anxiety. Mom, Romeo and I are so lucky, we get to live on a big ranch where I run free and play every day.
The best part of my life is that I get to go to work with Mom and meet all kinds of great people. It’s like having another family away from home! We go to a lot of offices and businesses, with lots of new smells. I love meeting new people. I am trying REALLY HARD to help other pets like me and Romeo. There are so many Domino’s and Romeo’s at the Humane Society that need a good life with someone like Mom. So, we started this GREAT program! FOR EVERY REFERRAL THAT IS EMAILED TO ME AT DOMINO@THEYOUNGIG.COM, $20 is donated to the local Humane Society. This money helps feed pups and kittens like me and Romeo and helps keep them healthy until they can find their new family. If you know anyone who is unhappy with their insurance, please EMAIL ME and copy your friend on the email. We will save one puppy and kitty at a time, together.
We have super exciting news to announce! We have a new team member, he has four legs and his name is Domino! His mission is to help us all work together to save local pets. Domino was rescued from a shelter, he was born deaf. He also knows American Sign Language.

Since 2019, (since we’ve been tracking your referrals), you have sent us enough friends, co-workers, family and neighbors to make a difference to well over 200 animals in less than a year! We are averaging 25 animal services per month. Here’s how your referrals are making a difference….
- Transfers from an overcrowded shelter, bringing them to Boulder County
